Independence Day at Oulton Park

Yes folks , this great Friday 4 July event was arranged by MotorSportVision , and there were only 3 Porsches on track !
Guess what type - GT3 ? GT3RS? ....nooooo... it could only be the iconic 964RS representing the marque.
Adrian Rowlands in the signature maritime blue flavour , me in the ever fashionable black variety , and Big Dave in his lemon yellowish uber911. Good turn out for the register [:D]
The supporting cast were Caterhams and hotted up rice eaters (Skylines) , the weather was surprisingly dry , and it was good to see Johnny Probert spectating. A Frenchman expressed interest in buying my car as apparently they are in demand over there , he would not go beyond 60,000 Euro [:(]

You kept that to yourself John. [:D] I'd have joined you in Monkeybum. Are you going to Oulton 1st October?

Cheers Paul, I didn't know I was going until I found myself 200 miles north of London in dry weather [:D] . Had not booked in advance but turned up in the lunch hour and got on for 2nd half of the day. Price £125.
One of the problems about track days is that most of the organisers do not or will not tell you who is booked on to go- Easytrack is one of the rare exceptions - and I reckon you are more likely to go if you know someone else /or group of same car owners/ to be going. Otherwise you have to plan in advance and post your intent on the forum.

Finally , yes , intend to be at Oulton as per the post Melv put up. Oulton suits the 964RS more than say Bedford or Silverstone (or Spa) , but the circuit will bite you hard if you are careless ......not a good place to be when its slippy either.....what days have you got planned ?

Interesting John, I find Spa a more challenging drive BUT with more confidence .... although another 50 ponies would be good on the straight ... [:D]

Hi Des , I dont think you need another 50hp , you cause enough trouble with what you've got [:D]

I am booked into the Easytrack day at Oulton on 30 July , still some places left , predict that weather will be OK , good practice for anyone planning on doing the Oktober schnellfarht

John - almost certainly going to Oulton 1st October. Not booking anything at the moment whilst the weather is hit-and-miss. Going to meet us at The Silverstone Classic?
