As the title.

Can anyone recommend a small independent who can do a belt, water pump and chain change on my 944 s2 for reasonable money in the herts, beds, north London area?

Thanks in advance.

Ross

I'm not going back to RPM (after nearly ten years) for various reasons. My options are Ninex in Maidenhead, or Hillcrest in Henly (both probably under water! [])

Other options are Promax or Auto 200 in Bedford.

my local backstreet garage rebuilt my engine and put new belts on of course ,did and excellent job

probably much cheaper than any porsche specailist ,its not cutting edge technology nowadays remember

Thanks for all the replies guys.

I was thinking about the OPC route as I am only a 10min drive from OPC Hatfield and with parts they usually work out cheaper than type 911 et al with our PCGB discount. A red 944 would look nice on their forecourt!

I will post up a cost from them once I have spoken so others have an idea.

thanks

+1 for Promax. They have looked after my S2 for the past eight years and changed the belts three times. Cost will be under £400 if my memory still serves

I have found a truly excellent local guy here http://www.davidthomasgarages.co.uk

He has worked on both my 964 and 944 and to date I cannot fault his workmanship and the bills have been very reasonable.

He often has an array of classic cars around including Porsche and Ferrari and races Alfa Romeos. Nice bloke who knows his stuff.

Cheers
Mick
