We have someone who called the clubhouse to ask for some recommendations for an independent garage in West London/South London area; he wants to get the engine rebuild for his 1990 3.6 Targa, any recommendations?

Many thanks

Thanks Pete,
It would be good to keep a list of all recommended indis in and around London so please post away all the garages you know of... I will be more than happy to visit them and see if you London region members can get any special treatment apart from a free lollipop.

There are others but I only have personal experience of these, I think it's best not to recommend places you've have had no dealings with.

Absolutely, as otherwise anyone can just grab yellow pages or google and get the details of a garage...

East London/Essex (next door to Fairlop tube station, central line)

I can highly recommend HP Motorsports, specialises in all things Porsche - looks after my 911 and does a great job:

Unit 6a

Hainault

Hi all,
I have now added all these recommendations to a new FAQ thread here:

http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/m.asp?m=235552

If you click on the Recommended by: forum tag, it will bring the reader to your recommendations post. Please carry on with recommendations but in the above new post and it would be useful if you can drop as much details as possible i.e. if you know they specialised in say, air-cooled then please say so. If you are in good terms with the specialist then do feel free to ask if they want to offer special discounts to the users of this forum; I'm sure the usual PCGB discounts are advertised in the PP or Porschefile.

Enjoy and open for suggestion/comment as always.
