Geo Morrison 0141 643 1768 make sure you get a fixed quaranteed price first
RPM no details
Lorimer and Findlay no details
As said Motortune 01501 822247 has a good reputation also Brian Miller 0131 443 7806

Agreed: Peter at Motortune in Shotts is fantastic, and Brian at Brian Miller in Edinburgh is also good but a little further away.

Hi, I can recommend Lorimer and Findlay. Pete Lorimer is your contact, 950 6688.
Known Pete for 20 years since he changed the clutch in my E Type V12 (now THAT is an engine!) and he's very experienced in a wide range but loves his Porsches, I think he still has his 928s. Worked for Glenvarigill etc.,

Ask him to price your job at least.

And no, I have no financial interest in his business, just like to see him doing well.

Andrew

andy !

i would use peter in motortune ! pain to get to ! but give me a buzz if you need lift for dropping off etc !

got you message last night ! have got you 2 spaces but speak later !

scott.

Try Kenny Brown motors Hillington ..just done clutch conversion for G.Stephens 993turbo +hes involved with Porsche racing this year G

Kennys t/no 01418826757 tell him i sent you ..you should get a good deal and a great job ... Gordon

RPM in marry hill would be my first choice, the guys there have worked on 3 of my mates racing Porsches and on my 914. I cant rate the guys there enough.:

RPM
1987 Maryhill Road
Glasgow G20 0BT
Tel: 0141-946 0666

I have used Kenneth Brown in the past for setting up my Lotus 7s suspension and steering geometry, he did a good job.

RPM for me too........always an honest opinion.

Gordon remind me to talk to you about the Hillington guy, I want your view on a story I heard.

I hate to be negative but I used Kenny Brown for quite a while to do work on my Impreza Turbo and all seemed well for a while, his knowledge is pretty extensive and his work is good but the last time I used him for an oil change I was presented with a massive bill because he had found a 'problem' with the brakes which required him to do another 3 hours of work and replace the brake pads!

Confidence totally lost and I will never be back.

Just my opinion,Im sure he has many happy customers..............just stuck in my throat a bit.

If its routine work then Peter at L&F is good, but if it's suspension/track set up/engineering then Kennys your man - I've found his work meticulous. Referring to the thread above, he's probably not the cheapest, but certainly the best IMO.

gordon the special clutch was ment to be our secret. ref kenny brown and the big eric coment , i have been using kenny brown for the last year and had a lot of work carried on my 993tt. his hourly rate is £35 i think this represents very good value for money and he has not as mutch as put a single component on my car with out my consent . it has taken me 19 years of owning these posh motors to find a garage that you do not need KY gel when it comes to invoice time......[8|]
