Independent servicing in Scotland

Hello everyone,

I'm hoping to benefit from the knowledge of the collective here and be pointed in the direction of a highly rated, reasonably priced independent specialist within reasonable distance of Dundee/Perth area.
I have a 2006 987 that has had it's previous 2 services at David Phillips in Edinburgh. I was just going to book there as the previous owner was very complimentary about the work and there is the added bonus that they know the car already.
Unfortunately I missed the meeting at Scone (a few miles along the road from me! [] ) and had hoped to speak to some of you there so thought I'd post up here and ask.
Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Paul.

Motortune, Shotts SP Autobahn, Stirling Brian Miller Motors, Edinburgh All very good. All fairly priced. All busy too, so you need to book well in advance!

Have had good reports BM. SP .MT. get a quote for work to be carried out then decide who fits your requirements best . As you missed Scone how about coming along to the E-K on the 30th Sept and meeting owners .

I can only comment on Motortune Shotts - always had a very positive experience with them (Peter).

Don't overlook the Edinburgh Porsche centre either. They can sometimes be quite competitive on price, and their service is excellent. It is noteworthy though that all these places are in the Edinburgh/Glasgow corridor. There must be an opening for someone to start up in the Perth/Dundee area

John, I have to thank you for suggesting Edinburgh Porsche Centre! I gave them (and the others) a call and gave them the figures I had in front of me (mileage, dates, etc) and they were the only ones who said 'erm, your car's *not* due a service' Once I looked at the numbers properly myself I could see that was more than apparent. What has happened is the last minor service that took place 11/11 @ 36000 was completed but the indicator not reset. With that in mind Scott at the EPC was kind enough to offer to reset the light if I pop in there. I do now have a new problem though. I'm going to have to figure out what to buy myself with the money I've saved :D Thank you all for your input and I'll bear these in mind for the future. Paul.

Pleased to hear you had a good outcome, I guess Edinburgh OPC weren't voted top OPC in the UK for nothing. [:D] Over the years I have used various places for various cars ... Brian Miller for my 924S, Peter at Motortune for my 964, and I even went to the length of going to Hartech in Bolton with my 968 as no one up here seemed too clued up about the cam chain issue. I have a 2006 Cayman, and I only take it to Edinburgh OPC, and they have always treated me superbly, although if I had an older car I'd probably go elsewhere. They all have good and bad points, it's just horses for courses! [;)]

I found the service from the parts dept at Edinburgh OPC so good I have started using them for servicing and repairs.
