Hi,

On my s2 cab there is no audible click whilst indicating.

Before everyone tells me to be more alert, my wife wants to start driving the car!!!

Should the click come from the relay sealed in a box in the engine compartment?

Thanks

Ant

I always wondered if the click didn't get any quieter over the years... As for the salf-cancel function, you may want to check the adjustment of the console holding the indicator stalks, maybe it's too far from the steering wheel. I solved the issue on mine by moving it slightly closer to the steering wheel. The white plastic tip on the console migh be worn out too.

They are just not easy to hear, as you say, the relay is sealed in a box under the bonnet. As an experiment, I tried sitting a nice fat compression spring on top of the relay so it would push against the fusebox lid when fitted. This transmits the noise to the lid pretty successfully, and the relay sound heard under the bonnet is much louder, but I'm not convinced it made much difference in the cabin. I remember people used to fit a plastic cup with relay-pin arranged holes in the bottom so that the fitted flasher relay was sitting in the cup to try and amplify the sound. That was a top tip from about 40 years ago, but not much help here I'm afraid - no room in that fusebox.

Hi, Just an update, I purchased a cheap flasher relay from ebay and that was a big improvement. I then drilled a few holes in it and it can just about be heard with the stereo on!
