Induction kits ??

Has anyone fitted one of the ' induction kit' air filters to their car ? I was looking for some feedback if this was a worthwhile mod for my S2. Quite like the idea of a bit more noise but £130 pounds seems a lot of money for a six inch pipe and a generic air filter. Has anyone any ideas/input ?

Thanks

I bought a stainless steel induction kit, from Simon at Essential Styling, whilst at the Porsche in the Park gathering at Castle Howard in May. It certainly looks nice in the engine bay and sounds pretty good when I' ve got the windows down, but there' s no discernable improvement in " performance" .
As you say, £130 is a lot of dough. Perhaps a stainless steel rear exhaust box would be money better spent?

Read the thread on ' wheel spacers' in the 996 Forum.

Wheel spacers??? I hear you question..... sort of wandered off topic a tad.

I fitted a K&N on my Lux last year and whilst it didn' t seem to make much difference from a performance point of view, it sounded much better when under load.[:)]

Subsequently I have manufactured my own K&N conversion for my Turbo. It tidies up the engine bay and you can spot any leaks, but it seems to make little or no differnce in performance or induction noise [:(]
