Info on Basildon Park

Do those of us with Porsches, but not entering concourse, just turn up as public? And do we park in normal car park or will there be a Porsche area (non concourse)?

Extracts from the Basildon Park 06 Booking Form:

"The annual Concours is one of the main events in the Thames Valley regional calendar. This year we are returning again to Basildon Park, a delightful National Trust property surrounded by extensive parklands. Built in the Palladian style, the house has been restored and contains quality pictures and furnishings. The Concours is being held on the lawn in front of the house, providing an idyllic backdrop against which to display the cars. Non competing Porsches will have their own special car park immediately behind the Concours cars (non Porsches must park in the public car park). Facilities for spectators include "" tour of the house and grounds, excellent tea room and gift shop."

A Booking Form was included in the May 06 Issue of Porsche Post. If you need another one: r19@porscheclubgb.com

Thanks!

The above answers most things, but can we just turn up or do we need to book?

Re. the carparks: Will the NT staff recognise what is a Porsche :) or will PCGB have someone at entrance?

Entrance / Traffic Management / etc. done by PCGB Volunteers (= Members of Porsche Club Great Britain / Thames Valley Region).

In 2005 we had 130+ Porsche on site. This year, we expect 200+ Porsche...

Therefore, we recommend you book prior the Event. It'll make the Thames Valley Volunteers Life much easier!

Entrance Fees:
*PCGB Members Tickets: £5 per head (£2 for children),
*Non-Members Tickets: £15 per car,
all inclusive. People wishing to visit the interior of the house should show their ticket at the official ticket office to obtain a free entry pass.

Time scale:
09:30 onwards site open for Concours cars.
Spectators may arrive at any time
11:30 judging commences
15:00 presentation of prizes.

Thanks!

Fab

As members of the National Trust, we do not have to pay.

What is the situation here?

Do I still get directed to Porsche parking, do we consider a donation to the nominated charity? Please advise.

Cheers
D

Hi,

3 pieces of information:
1. To run this Event @ Basildon Park, PCGB / R19 (= Thames Valley Region) has to pay the National Trust,
2. For the first time this year, thanks to sponsorships, PCGB / R19 managed to break even before the event,
3. Entrance Fees will go to The Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust.

PCGB Members Tickets: £5 per head (£2 for children)

BTW, we're not talking about "big money", are we?

Therefore,
*Sorry, but you'll have to pay the PCGB R19 Basildon Park 06 Entrance Fee(s),
and,
*If you come with your Porsche, yes, you'll be able to park @ the Porsche Car Park

Did I answer your very good question?

If you need a Booking Form or further info, please do feel free to contact me: r19@porscheclubgb.com / Mobile # 07796 246 321

Fabien, how much do National Trust members pay who don't bring a car to the event? I and a lot of my friends live within walking distance of Basildon Park. The National Trust website says that 'Normal admission charges apply' for this event which leads me to believe that it would be free to get in for National Trust members not bringing a Porsche for display.

Please could you clarify?

Many thanks

1. This isn't a National Trust's Event

2. Porsche Club Great Britain / Region 19 (= Thames Valley Region) has to pay the National Trust to organise its Event @ Basildon Park

4.3. If you're not a PCGB Member and if you walk in to Basildon Park 06: £10.00 per person (the only piece of information missing)

7. If you have a carefull look on this Forum / R.19 area, I'm sure you'll find most of the information you need

Impressed with the pricing so thats
PCGB member with wife and two kids £14
Non member with car £15
Giving a massive saving of £1, now I remember why I paid my membership fee.

Family ticket direct £13.25!!!.

Somehow I think that the Regional organisers must own Boxsters or have no kids
