Information required for my accountant...

Hi guys.

My wife & I have recently started our own business & our accountant has asked us to provide him with the list price for our cars (assume when 1st registered), as well as their c02 emissions.

The cars are;
996 3.4 manual on an "S" plate 1st registered in 1998 and a
Boxster 2.7 manual 1999 on a "V"

Appreciate your assistance with this request.

Thanks.

Steve & Fiona.

I'm not sure where you would get CO2 figures for 1998 and 1999 cars, other than from Porsche. The DVLA only publish them from March 2001 on. Give Customer Services at Reading a ring. They are usually quite helpful at this sort of thing.

This is what Parkers say the llist price was for a 98(S) when new:

no official co2 figures prior to 2001

thats why vehicle tax is based on engine size for such vehicles
i imagine compmay car tax is similar

See http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/helpsheets/hs203.pdf for full details. Company car tax goes back to 1998 on CO2, but anyway, you'll be in the 35% bracket for > 240 carbons or > 2000cc.

I'm no accountant, but I doubt it would make financial sense running a 98 996 via a ltd company as the taxable 'benefit' will be approx 35% of list price = taxable benefit of £22,400 - so if you're a 40% tax payer, that will cost you nearly 9,000pa !
