Inoperative w/screen washers

As Mot due this week, sod's law operates and w/screen washers stop working.Panic!Rationale returns;check fuses;protects other items which still work, headlamp washers still work so pump is OK so must be column switch.Damn!Remove 2 screws from plastic trim below steering wheel boss(1 each side) and with a lot of cursing you can pull out the top piece and even more cursing, the bottom piece. The plastic seems to be made to withstand the twisting necessary to get the little lugs clear of each other.
The lever does move the bottom contact to the fixed top contact but still no washers;application of finger under bottom contact results in washers working so adding slight amount of set to it with fine nosed pliers gives operation fromthe lever.
Covers go back easier than I expected and hopefully the 924S will pass as usual this Friday.

Just thought I would share that with you all.
