Has anyone tried the LED filament replacement bulbs that are now available in the Speedo or Rev counter of a 3.2 Carrera, in an attempt to brighten up what is basically a dim light?

Thanks
Will

Hi Will,
There's a lengthy thread on Pelican that covers this very topic -
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=ef7fc3a0beff83ee0c33f14613f741fb&threadid=294027

Seems a little bit more involved than one would think if you want to protect the original wiring/switches
Regards

I've got leds in my SC, They are better than stock but not up to modern car standards. You may need to change the bulb holders too.

Thanks for the comments.
It seems to me that the concensus is that LED bulbs make some improvement but they may not be really worth a lot of effort.
However, after having so much trouble to get the instruments out of the dash in the first place just to get at the bulbs, I may just give them a try.
I'm convinced that the Speedo is glued in as I cannot budge it, even with all the other instuments out, pushing from inside the luggage compartment and using a "G" Clamp arrangement to get extra leverage - I have now decided to leave this well alone!

I've done this and they are better without a doubt, don't forget that your dimmer control wont work any more with LED's (not that you'd want to dim 911 dials!!)

Hi Dugsud,
Glad to hear that it worked out for you, for the record - so that other can follow, can you detail which brand of LED's you used
