Can anyone help on this one.....
On a cold morning when off to work in 944 i got in car and started her up, put the lights on as it was still dark but stupid me stalled her. I started her back up but when she was running again my dash lights wouldnt work (Complete darkness inside)I thought perhaps i blew a fuse or something, so checked them when got home and they all seemed fine. So have any of you any ideas what culd had happened and how to get them working again??
Its not nice driving without seeing the speed and petrol gauges in the dark lol!

cheers

If it's all the lights I'm not sure, but if it's just the instrument binnacle it could be that the contacts with the bulb holders are to blame.

I have had to clean the contacts on the PCB and also tighen the spring on the bulb holder where it contacts the track on the PCB to get mine to work reliably. Sometimes hitting the top of the dash helps.

I have a set of clocks I purchase for my lux (RIP) but never fitted.

They are fitted with white dials, these are the real replacement faces and not the cheap stickers with the horrible black holes.

Mail me if you are interested.

Mike

i dont think its the dimmer switch, was working fine untill it stalled, ive hit the dash too but nothing, maybe the connections in the back of the dash are shot??

Thanks for all the replies, i managed to get to the bottom of this problem. I was caused by a faulty light switch, i took the switch out and thought id have alook and took apart gave a good clean and looked for bad connections which i had. I put back into the car then i noticed the dash lights working, was also getting problems with my lights not popping up when switching them on. Now have order a new switch so lets see lol

If you have three dial dash similar to the 924 and likely similar switches for the lights, it is a shrewd move to replace the switch. They do melt with varying degrees of disaster. The cabin on my 924 started to fill up with acrid smoke about 400 yds ( bug**r the metres) from home and the switch was very hot and stiff to operate. I was about to post this as a heads up, but you are ahead of me.
I bought a 924 in which the same thing had happened resulting in a loom meltdown. I made one good car out of the two and it still sits in my garage while I decide its fate as it most certainly needs an offside cill for the mot

Thank for the replies, it is was 924 NUTTER says, i looked at the switch and was gone,no wonder my pop up lights were acting funny the connection inside the switch was melted away, still waiting for one to come.
