Insurance - Allianz pull out, where to now ?

[8|] So it is that time of year again, ye olde insurance renewal and my current provider informs that they are effectively no longer in the market.

Looking at the plethora of insurance providers for 993s (and the like) in the glossy pages of the multiple Porsche mags I thought it may be an idea to check if any 993 folk have any suggestions as to who I should use for the 5k limited comp insurance ?

Are there any particularly good quality insurance outfits out there ? any feedback much appreciated. Most important is service and good cover as opposed to going for the cheapest Charlie !

Also are there any providers to avoid ?

Many thanks in advance
Regards
John

I'm delighted with ClassicLine Insurance. My premium seems to drop a little every year. Currently about £260 (3000 miles a year, garaged) and that's for agreed value as well!

Good luck [;)]

Interesting, I've only renewed recently through A Manning... And that is with Allianz!

Is it just the broker?

I was with Allianz but just had a letter from Manning with my renewal saying they are recommending move away from Allianz because they have "changed direction" and recommending "Summit at Lloyd's" - I can't do Classic because I occasionally want to use car for a drive the the airport which they would count as "business" because I'm going for a flight to see a customer.[8|]

(is A Manning same as ManningUK?)

Yup to your question.
Wonder what Mannings mean by "changed direction " - been with Mannings/Allianz for six years and quite happy - good trackday cover and my premium has never gone above £350.

I wonder if the deal Mannings have with Allianz is not so good any more? I am also with the same broker and insurer so it will be interesting to see what happens when the renewal arrives

I have just (28th February) taken a new 'cherished car' policy with Allianz through Lancasters with a 6,000 mileage limit, £150 XS, agreed value, and full European breakdown cover.
Previously I had a policy through Adrian Flux who said that they could no longer offer cherished car policies.

Strange we are about to renew our insurance April 1st with Allianz and the broker is here today getting all the info up to speed![&o]

Folks, all feedback much appreciated . It seems Manning UK are not proceeding with Allianz anymore and have recommended Summit at Lloyds with a 6% increase in premiums. I will try some of the feedback options.
thanks again
John

Nowell & Richards were pretty good on the premium last year.

Just renewed with Manning as mentioned above they are now with Summit, the good news (in my case) £100 CHEAPER than last year, a very heavily modified 993 to RS spec, with brakes, suspension, wheels, RS bodykit, lightweighted interior and 9m billet headed engine, agreed value at £38k last year £630 this year £530 result :) very happy customer.

About to switch to Manning, after appalling time since Footman James and Aon got together.......................Mannings do appear to offer a proper broking service and try to be constructive...............the fact they include unlimited number of Track days inc Spa makes it a no brainer for me .

Ann Manning personally helped me with an issue with Allianz (policy wording v intention of words!) when I needed my folding roof replaced due to an attempted theft.
They do seem to be very helpful to the customer, going beyond what most companies would do.

+1 except you do have to accept the degree of individual attention along with the mistakes it brings, like for second year in a row mysteriously adding a garage to my house. But it's part of the nature of the service and I'd much rather that type of service than a call centre!
