Insurance claim advice

Hi all, I’m not clear on the process, so looking for advice.

Today I was driving down my road when a car pulled out on me perhaps 10 meters in front. I broke, but still collided and now I have some damage to the front side of the car, bodywork only.
We exchanged details and she admitted liability.
She’s just called me however, and she has SDP insurance only, but as she was working at the time (delivering pizzas) apparently her work insurance covers it. She said she can’t give me the details and her manager needs to call me.
Anything I need to do / say in this scenario? I already reported the accident to my insurer, but it seems like she won’t be covered and I need to get these business insurance details. Any help gladly accepted. I want any work carried out by Porsche, so I hope I don’t have a fight on my hands! Thanks.
 
I've had a similar discussion with my Son as he works at a local fast food restaurant and has been asked to collect stock from another store. I've told him he should not agree to do it as he's not insured (similar SDP only). Doesn't help in your case I'm afraid but the only advice I can give is go into the store and speak to the manager face to face. Ask for all the insurance details they have including a copy of their policy that states their delivery drivers are covered by the company insurance. If the manager is resistant and it's a well known food chain, you could always take it to head office and discuss with them.

Did your insurance company give you any idea what they need to make the claim?
 
Thank you, yes it’s a well known pizza company. I have motor legal protection so I guess if the conversation becomes difficult I could just hand it across to them, but it’s all a bit of a pain!
I’m waiting for a call from the manager, where I hope to get insurance details I can give these to my own insurer. Can’t imagine they can argue against this request, but we’ll see..
 
Claim from her.

She can't have 2 policies on the same car so her claim "work covers her" is BS plain and simple.

Inform the police, telling them the other driver doesn't have appropriate insurance

And tell your insurance company - you pay them to sort this #%* out.
 
She has committed an offence by not having insurance. Police job. I would be surprised if her conditions of employment didn’t include that she must have appropriate insurance like any other properly insured business user, in which case the employer would have no responsibility. Most car policies these days include not being penalised for being hit by uninsured drivers so you may be ok on that score. Good luck.
 
She talking rubbish. She is not insured to use her car for work and I doubt she will be insured by her work. Why would her employer insure her car. Its bullshit and the police need to involved.

It seems like they may cover her car, benefits list out ‘business use insurance’. I bloody hope so :(.

I spoke to my insurance who said they could see she had admitted liability, and they had been informed that there was business insurance cover, and that her insurer would be in contact soon.
This seemed a bit weird to me, as my insurer I would expect them to speak with the other insurer, validate insurance exists, and negotiate the claim. Is this not how it works?
My guys basically said, ‘she’s at fault, it’s her insurer’s problem, wait for them to call you.’
Seems backwards to me, they have no incentive to call me and settle the claim, but I’ve not been through this before. Is this how it normally works?

Interesting link apparently showing they extend owner's insurance subject to some underwriting rules - never seen that before. Worth knowing. I imagine your insurer can't talk to Domino's insurer until they are informed which company it is - they may not know. Some large company insurances are quite complex if they involve corporate brokers and various third parties handling specialist subjects like claims on behalf the broker or even the insurer. The Domino insurance certificate should make that clear.
 
hi @Greenman986S, so I drafted a post about how difficult it was to find any contact details, which is true, however at 3pm today I got a call from the business insurer. He was very reassuring.
The insurer is ERS, they have admitted liability (thank god) and I'm in the process of getting quotes agreed. Quote from Porsche recommended repairer - £8.5k (unseen, just based on photos at this point).
 
Update - my car is now with Steer in Farnham for the required work, covered by their insurer. They had lots of nice cars in for bodywork, which gives me a lot of confidence :).
However the loaner I've been given by the rental company is a Merc C class, and I don't think I've ever hated a car as much! Fat steering wheel full of stupid buttons, horrible light steering feel with an annoying digital rumble if you cross the white lines, and stupid digital screens everywhere. I couldn't even work out how to turn the wipers on!

First world problems, but it makes me love my (mostly) analogue 718 with clean & simple steering wheel even more.
I just cant get into this digital dash nonsense. just imo, of course!
 
Hi Toby. I'm looking to get some repairs done by an approved bodyshop - how did it work out with Steer?
