Im with Admiral and dont have a tracker fitted! My premium went up by about the same amount as yours so I called them to 'discuss' and they knocked about £130 off the premium. Give them a call if you havent done so already Kevin.

Aviva don't need one on cars under a certain figure in value - which might be £60k but I'm not sure. Last time I asked (2 years ago) Privilege insisted on one. I agree with Sarah, though - ring them and haggle!

Hi

Can you help me my Insurane with Adminal has gone up by £195 this year & I have 10 years no claims to my credit but that don't help me.

Do you know of any insurance companys that don't ask for a tracker to be fitted to a Cayman S before they will insure it.

Company Names & Telephone number would be a help to me.

Many thanks Kevin.

PS Even my second car has gone up by £95 this year too.[&o]

Hi Sarah & Chris. I have set you a reply Sarah & I have already called them last night & they would only offer me a £15 discount on bothe the Cayman & Mini I have insured with them on there 2 car policy but thanks for your advise & Chris I will give the a call tonight or tomorrow. Yours Truly Kevin

Recent experience suggests that when ringing round for quotations always say that you will get back to them but you have to ring other insurers first. This seems to trigger almost instantaneous reductions in the quote. The salesperson really does't want to lose a potential customer (or potential commission?). My wife's Mini Cooper insurance went up by 88% but ringing around ended up with a figure 28% less than last year. It's worth trying.

Kevin, I'm with Manning UK. They haven't required a tracker fitted, I've just re-newed with them and they will include track day cover if you require that. I don't have their number at hand, but they advertise in the monthly mag. Good luck.

Can't comment on a Cayman S, but I'm with Adrian Flux (0800 369 8590) and my 2.7 Cayman does not need a tracker.

Manning UK as previously mentioned Mayfair Performance Insurance 0844 49 35 715 Have alternated between these two for last 4 years with my 987S Adrian Flux 0800 081 8989 although they tend to have lots of additional items added in initially (like key cover, breakdown) which you may want to remove to reduce the premium. Plenty of other companies in the club magazine or 911 Porsche World mag; as ever with insurance it's s lottery based on postcode, usage, occupation, etc etc Make sure you get full cover for all factory fitted extras, these should not be classified as modifications. However if anything was added by the OPC ( for instance some OPCs offered coloured wheels for less than the factory option) then these are modifications in the same way as fitting a sports exhaust after leaving the factory.

I was about to go with Privilege but did not like the sales technique - quote cheap and at the last minute say, oh, btw, you'll need a tracker that our sister company will sell you. I went with Marsh Private Clients (Porsche Insurance Service). 01462 428007 "Visit www.marsh.co.uk/service/privateclient[/u] to quote and buy new products.." Regards David

Hi All Thankyou for all your help & I contacted all the Companys & in the end I went with the best quote I got from Manning UK who did an Family Fleet Policy for both my Cars. Many thanks again. Yours Truly Kevin.[:)]

Chris, I take it your wife is the main driver then? If not, and the insurers can prove it, you could find yourself in a lot of pooh! [Remember] insurance contracts are called "uberimae fidei" = of the utmost good faith. If you've told them the truth, good for you. If not, ................ D
