just been on to classicline about my renewal. They advised a change to Brit insurance from my current insurer. Looking at the keyfacts page there is something to be noted ! they only offer a maximum of £500 for spare parts or accessories stored in the garage not on the car. So if you store yor mags you won't be suffiecently covered !
I enquired about laid up cover (as I doubt i'm going to use the car this year) and they quoted £400 which is £ 85 less than if i use it ?????!!!!! and if i go on a 1500 mile limit it's £385 , so cheaper than laid up ????????????????????????

i got the same quote on laid up last month from hegaty , odd isnt it. check your house insurance for car parts in garage. mine covers this. In fact my house insurance covered my helmet from accidental damage at a race weekend. also house insurance is cheep to covered named items. worth a look.

Lawrence -your laid up cover is ridiculous -mine drops to about £35!! [:D]

Lawrence.
I have the same quote in from Classic Line. Have not asked about laid up yet but you can stick with the original underwritter but it was £435 for 1500 miles.

Do the new lot cover track days and the ring?

I am going for multi car policy and will try AON and Hegarty this year.

Charles

Footman James are worth trying if you are going the multi car route tel 0845 458 6792

update....had a quote from AON for about £200 for laid up cover. This seems more realistic to me. So probably going with that option.

I paid £145 with Classic Line for laid up cover with KPG underwriters.

Melv said it was £65 with AON?

Did you try any others?

charles is that recently you got the cover or a while back and is it for a full year ? same question for melv too. And at what value is the car insured. This seemed to be where the quotes get silly.
Yes i did try at least one other can't remember now who but they were similar to the original classicline quote.May have been heritage.
