Depends where you live & if it's garaged etc... I've been with Elephant.co.uk (online version of Admiral) for the last two years and they seem very competitive - tracker not needed on cars valued at under £50K

Regards

Depends what you want, I'm 28 and have found the following:

Esure - apparently cheapest with reasonable cover - won't quote for a Boxster if you're under 30 years old (at least they won't for me!)

Direct Line/Priviledge/Tesco (all Direct Line): Require a tracker - is it worth the extra subscription for the tracker (trackers themselves are useless - pro thieves will rip them off in seconds, and do you really want a nicked car back - I wouldn't).

Elephant/Admiral/Diamond - Usually one of the cheapest, but won't cover beyond base specification (i.e. any factory fitted options are not covered) - I am with them simply because they are the cheapest and don't require a tracker.

Liverpool Victoria - have a good reputation for allowing some modifications and possibly track days - may be worth the extra.

Norwich Union - tend to be expensive.

Halifax - tend to favour older drivers, and penalise or won't quote for under 30s.

Most of the brokers such as Carolne Nash and all the others at the back of the PCGB magazine aren't worth a call as they are looking for the more "mature" Porsche driver.

I purchased a 2.5 on an R plate in June last year and am 29. The cheapest quotes I received were from Tesco's and Barclaycard. They will probably request a tracker though. I have found the RAC products and customer service to be very good and the investment was a no brainer for me.

Happy driving![:)]

Thanks for all your help , i have got a quote with direct line but have 14 days to cancel , just got it because i wanted it on the road today - Got it for £799 comp but they require a tracker certf, i am 28 with Full ncb living in cheshire. before they will cover it for theft - so at the moment its covered but not for theft!!!!! - I was going to get a tracker anyway , how much will it cost and which is the best , i basically want the cheapest i can get that is insurance approved and will satisfy the insurance company, oh By the way i am getting the clear headlamps fitted tommorow morning so i will have the originals for sale if any1 is interested - open to offers - the car has only covered 12k so they are mint Offers invited

Well that doesn't sound such a bad deal. It's certainly cheaper than mine and i'm with direct line as well. I know mine is a MY02 2.7, but i'm mid 30's. Oh and it's got protected NCD. Oh and also for business use. Ah, and very low excess.

I suppose a triffle late now but I found a great site a few weeks ago that does lots of insurance searches for you at the same time, so you don't have to do the repatative work. Lets you see all the figures together on the screen.

Found that Halifax were currently the best value.
