Insurance on 944

I think I may have found the vehicle! Slate grey 1982 Lux. Tons and tons of service history of the past 7 years and more information on the car than one could hope for. Selling because he's bought a 968. The only other car his mechanic would allow him to buy. Oddly enough the owner and I are in roughly the same business have a very good mutual friend! Small world indeed...

I was wondering, as I am looking for insurance quotes, what is the best insurance company for this? Can I get classic car insurance and with whom? Information gratefully received.

Thanks guys. Yes - I tried Confuse.com and nearly had a heart attack. Tried Heritage and the palpitations subsided. Much more like it...

Id guess that Heritage will cover you for £125/£150 (depending on whether you take the legal help and recovery). Their recover covers Europe too, which is brilliant.

Direct line have always been good for me. (Only car, parked on drive). Never actually used them, but always got the cheapest quote from them and got my current insurer to match it... They've just quoted me £470 for a year fully comp, 25 years old (me not the car!), 3 years NCD, car registered in Kent but kept in Bristol overnight. This is £100 cheaper than Heritage quoted me for the same thing.
