At this moment I pay £300to insure my mini cooper and £200 for my 944,I have a full no claims bonus, but have 5 points for speeding ..I am thinking about selling both and buying a boxster to run every day,I am looking for a running Costs guide ,insurance, mpg ,that sort of thing.I have just turned
50 and want to live a bit,any help would be great

Im sure with insurance they simply make it up, so many things about it doesn't make sense, however.

Your post code is a big factor.
If you put another driver on the policy that has a full NCB - like the wife you will find the premium goes down - even though they may never drive it.
My cover, fully comp, 58yrs old, Leicestershire, full NCB for a 3.2 was £350ish, for a 911 3.8S (997.2) £340

Fuel for 3.2 / 3.4, 22 MPG around town 26 to 34 on the motorway

Maintenance - depends which model you go for but budget between £600 to 1500 per yr, higher figure for cars still under warranty, no warranty then use independent specialists for servicing.

Tyres - rears 10 to 15000 miles, fronts 15 to 2000 miles - less obviously if you rag the car often

If you fall in love with the car you will find yourself wanting lots of upgrades - and Porsche parts are not cheap.

Hi my insurance at 49 years old is around £320 Fully comp, full NCB - protected for a 05 S - I had an accident last year which hasn't affected this. (through E sure)

12 years NCB, 0 points, 43 years old, garaged and 4k per annum. Last year with Sainsburys I paid £151 for my £40k Spyder. Couldn't believe it then and still don't quite believe how cheap it is now!!

Thanks for the help, you guys might have just pushed me over the edge,,,,,,,the good edge that is

That is cheap going by that i should be looking at under £100[:D][:D][:D]
Will try and do an online Qt and see how i get on at present with Aviva at £242 9 NCD. 68. 3k. garaged

Ask an insurance company?

FWIW a 4.0 V8 Jag x308, and a 2.7 944 cost me half the amount to insure that a 3.2 986 cost me. :)

Just did Sainsbury qt on line £191 .....premium cover £212 Lat year i changed my detail 3 times with Aviva no admin charges and can take the car to an official Porsche approved repairer if required there excess is £700 Sainsburys is only £250 so worth a consideration

Age has to count against you again at some point I guess. Perhaps I'm in the sweet spot. My £150 was after £50 cashback so started at £200 but £50 credit been paid to Quidco after 6 months ish.
