Insurance Quotes

With the car getting every closer I'm now in the process of getting insurance quotes, easy I know but expensive because of my job.

I work for a radio station which normally makes insurance companies run a mile or add an additional 50% to your policy because they believe (wrongly) that we drive Elton John & Justin Timberlake around all the time.

Have a couple of quotes which fall in the ball park I was expecting to pay and I'm just wondering if anyone here has had a similar situation or maybe able to point me in the right direction of a specialist company?

All the companies in Porsche Post are a good start. A new one on me (A Manning) came up with a great deal when I renewed a month or so ago[:)]

I'm looking for insurance too and I have the same problem because I work in the video games industry (apparently it all comes under entertainment industry)...

Say, has anyone actually managed to get some discount because they are PCGB member? Even companies which advertise in the Porsche Post that they give discounts don't e.g. Adrian Flux insurance on Pg 117 Feb 2005 edition states that they give up to 15% but when I rang them they didn't and the company name was also difference, also I noticed some of them seem to be the same company with different names; they must be brokers who end up connecting you to the same insurer...

Still looking but the worst quote I have got so far was from Porsche Insurance Services.

Odd because Porsche Insurance Services have come up with the best price for...................... Insurance who needs it?

Insurance for new boxster registered in January came in at £456.99 with Norwich Union Direct - two drivers £250 excess - no tracker fitted but stored in locked garage. When asking for a quote, always say too expensive and they come back at cheaper rate!
Have max protected no claims discount.

I know it's a Postcode lottery but without fail the ones in the Post have been the most expensive every year for me.

JCB..

For me:

6 points (and 6 points for wife)
Reading
Parked on street
new Boxster S

£1400

previously paying £800 for two year old TT Coupe 225

Porsche Insurance Services with NCB protection were £100 cheaper than anyone else without NCB protection.

I renewed my insurance last November with Liverpool Victoria (0800 514514) & saved myself nearly £600 over the previous insurers quote. For the record I was 32, doing around 18k miles and have the car garaged in a Nottingham suburb (NG16).

I think I paid around £780 in total which includes cover the car for "Market Value" (which means all optional goodies are covered - people like Elephant don't do this), protected no claims, and business cover for standard - plus they're not bothered about any points on your licence.....unless you've got a ban!

The only thing they don't touch are Track Days, and if you are unfortunate enough to need the services of a bodyshop they don't give you a courtesy car if you insist on taking it to a Porsche Approved place (but these tend to give you one anyway [;)])

Try Privilege Insurance as they were by far the cheapest and best cover at £1246

£1187, Boxster, Garaged, £35k value, Tracker Mini.co.uk insurance (they dont just do mini's)

[:D]For all the oldies aged 50 or over SAGA insurance give a good quote AND they give a new car replacement for the first TWO years! - Obviously on a new car.
I'm paying about £650 for a highly spec'd 2.7 Boxster.

Norwich Union Direct !!!!. get your wife/girlfriend as a named driver (£50 cheaper). Miles cheaper than anyone I found even in Porsche Post. 2000my 3.2s £480,

First Alternative came the best for me. £685; £150 access, legal protection, protected NCB etc... parked in the driveway, middlesex and yes, putting my wife on the policy decreased the cost... no tracker needed [:)] and no discount is offered for having one [:(].
