Insurance recommendations please

This old chestnut again,

If anyone has any decent suggestions for my renewal would they be kind enough to reply.

I have a 1997 C2S, relatively unmoslested except RSR's and a re-map, do less than 4000 miles p.a, want track day insurance with the policy but otherwise imagine I am a low risk as the car is garaged and I am in my mid 30's with full no claims and a clean licence etc etc ( I know, not trying hard enough).

Currently with Porsche's own insurance which I have to say isn't bad but you never know what else may be out there.

Thanks for your help.

not sure about track day cover, but like you, apparent low risk, I fould Footman James Insurance the cheapest,

Cheers

Try A.Manning. They usually advertise in the club magazine. They insure using underwriters Allianz Cornhill and include trackday cover with only a reasonable increase in excess.

I started a thread on this a couple of months ago and ended up with a very good deal from Asset Trust under their Classic policy of £389 fully comp. Does not include track days but you can possibly add that for an increased premium.. Tel: 01285 841555.

I use Assett Trust - they specialise in cars 10 - years old and over, I saved about £500 over my old insurer.

I think they do track cover Lee but I didn't take it out. PS - Bedford track day coming up, up for it? I'll PM you.

I went to AON - And then stayed with them after the 964 Turbo was written off and replaced with a 993TT.

The premium was almost the same.

Further tick for A. Manning. Been with them three years, seem knowledgible people and my £356 premium hasn't changed at all.

What what are the mileage limitations, conditions etc as I need to renew in the next fortnight and I'm up at £660 for 5k and LHD on a std car at the moment with Heritage whore were the cheapest last year, thanks

When I renewed with them the choices were agreed value classic policy with limited mileage of 5000 max or standard policy with whatever mileage you want to agree to but no agreed value.

Ian.

Thanks everyone,

This has been really helpful. I will follow up in the next few days and report back. I am hoping to beat £816 for my renewal quote with Porsche insurance and you have given me hope.

My cars only 9 years old so I may not get in but will give them a try.

Might be up for Bedford - give me the nod when it is.

Gordon, 5 thou mile limit, £550 policy excess (£1500 for trackdays), me only driving.Maybe cheap cos I'm 66 years old and live in a sleepy place!

I also have a '97 C2S. Insured with AON for around £600 and track days covered for £55 per day (just call in advance and use a "reputable organiser" - Which includes RMA, Goldtrack, PCGB etc) which is as good as I could find.

Hope this helps.

Here's hoping as much the same except for -20 on the age front and LHD

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. All were good but a couple were superb.

My renewal quote with Porsche Insurance was £816 inc 2 free track days and 10% car value excess (on track days).

Aon offered £428!! though restriced on track days, couldn't be Open Pit Lane and again 10% excess.

However, I think I will go with A Manning insurance through Cornhill, they were more expensive at £545 but track day excess was only £1250 and the only track day restrictions were that they had to be PCGB or organised through Association of Track Day Organisers or some such guff.

A result so thanks again.

I went with the same Gordon - looks a decent policy and no extra for Protected NCD.
