Insurance renewal result - for once !

It's that time of year to re-insure the 964 and it's usually a bit of headache with it being a road legal race car. This year it was more so but at least the story does have a happy ending!

I've been insured with Adrian Flux with a US import policy (as I bought the car from the States they suggested this) with a value of £17k and they wanted £345, just £5 more than last year. However when I upped the value to £25k the revised price was £480 plus I had to have an immobiliser fitted. This was too much for a car I use a few times a year. []

Anyway, after much phoning around and being told by Lancaster and various others they can't quote, I started thinking I just wouldn't bother and just take the car off the road.

Anyway, I didn't give up and I'm glad to say I've sorted out a policy with Competition Car Insurance. 3000 miles, £25k valuation and doesn't have to be garaged, with 5 track days included too, £250 excess and all for £296! Fantastic. [:D][:D]

I might as well make use of the track day cover so does anyone fancy a trip to Spa ??

Great result. Might have to check them out come renewal time next year. [:)]

Can't fit a Spa trip in this year but aiming for the Bookatrack weekend next year which is normally the last weekend in March.

p.s. Got that old rear light out of the loft last week and realized that it's the old version that needs a full gasket (which it no longer has) and is in a horrible state so it's not really worth sending to you.

I have used CCI and REIS to insure my rally cars for the last 15 years or so. Limited road mileage so that I can use it as and when also for getting it to/from rallies/trackdays/sprints/solos as I don't bother to trailer it. Always found them good value and very knowledgeable....
