Insurance renewal

Long time since I was on here!

Looking for some pointers for my imminent insurance renewal, does anyone recommend a broker or insurance company ?

Cheers

Bill

As you said it's been a long time [;)]
I did a Google and tried all the usual comparison sites . I eventually went with Aviva for a few reasons a Scottish office based in Perth and they use Inglis as a repairer in the event of a accident and would not affect my car warranty as they are approved repairers .
They worked out at £247 protected full comp .and they will offer a 30% discount if i bring a second car on with a multi car policy .So will see come April 30th how good they are .It is a case of looking around .With your car it must come under a Classic by now!! at least the driver does [:D][:D]

Think I'm with Aviva as well - not only were they cheap but weren't bothered about things like alarms, modifications etc - was a very simple quote to fill out. I went direct on their website.

I have been using Admiral for a few years now, very useful if you have a few cars. They were also surprisingly helpful when we had to make a claim last year.

Thanks Brian, your right, driver is a classic but the car is still too young. I see you've gone for a new model.

I'm currently with Aviva and the broker is offering Royal Sun Alliance at £233, Directline are quoting £206 based on 6k per annual and including a recent traffic misdemeanour when passing Glasgow airport. I'll try Aviva Direct just as Greg suggests.

My broker has been taken over by another company and the service we were getting across all our insurances has changed significantly so there is no differential between the broker service or going direct. My BMW is due for renewal in September so I'll look into a multi car deal too,.

Hope you are all well,

Cheers

I have been with Admiral for past two years with a multi car policy, the combined cost was better than I had been offered elsewhere including Aviva. As my 911 is a third car I was starting from scratch as far as no claims discount was concerned, I think it really depends on your individual circumstances. Cheers, Richard

I have 5 cars on my Admiral policy, for self and wife, including the Cayman and a relatively new Audi. Cost for all 5 is a tad over £600. Drill down into the figures though and their logic makes no sense; Cost for the Cayman (6 yrs old, 245 bhp, worth £16,000) ... £123. Cost for the 924 (33 yrs old, 125 bhp, worth £3,000) ... yup, exactly the same ... £123. Makes no sense to me whatever, but I can't find anything cheaper so I send them the cheque.

Oh, and come renewal time, the quotes all double, but phone them up and give them some grief and mysteriously they come back to what they were before. Crazy. I used to believe that insurance quotes were all carefully and scientifically worked out, but they are not. Someone on the other end of the line just shakes some dice or shuffles some cards. The world has gone mad! [:'(]

I am with Lockton - the clubs insurance for the 964, agreed value £25k, 3k miles, think its £350 ish ?

I have the Ferrari with Manning and they were about £400 with agreed value £40k and 3k miles.

both have free track cover, and no need for trackers etc.

Is your 964 a C2 as values are heading up significantly, I will renew mine in July with a £30k agreed value.

3 points, no accidents, age, 29 [;)]
