Hi Guys, my insurance is up, currently I am with Chaucer via Carole Nash, last year I paid £260 for 3000 miles fully Comp, as I have always said as soon as its renewal time these company's just put up the price it has now gone to £340 an £80 quid increase.

I have spoken to them and they said thats the price take it or leave it, only excuses is that Insurance has gone up.[]

What are you guys paying & who are you with, thanks for any pointers.

I am consdering on selling my Cab as I have not used it as much as I thought, plus I have just spent £3k on her[8|] fixing 3 oil leaks, new power steering pump, new Starter motor, new screen wash pump, Full Break caliper Recon, plus new pads and discs, Front Suspension wishbones, new battery etc etc etc, all of this was an engine out job plus a 12k service, that undertray hid a few horrors[:D]

But I have to say Hillcrest Performace Porsche Specialists in Henley did a great job she drives like a new car[:D] so humming and rrring[8D]

£460pa fully comp/unlimited mileage/agreed value with privilege; my butler hooked me up [:D]
they were the best I could find not even specialists could touch them (the AA were a cool 2 grand more expensive!!!)

Personally I think your insurance sounds very cheap. Mine was £500 for 5,000 miles and I was very happy to get that!

With all that money you've spent on the car, getting it right, do you really want to let someone else reap the benefit? Keep it and enjoy it[:)]

I to think your premium is good. I thought mine was good at £480 for 5,000 miles, with Frizzels.
You may well have spent a packet recently, but you may well have everything sorted. My thoughts are the same as Steve, why go through all that outlay for someone else to benefit. Now's the time to enjoy.

Drive your passion..... drive a Porsche..... better still drive a 964

Mutley, Think back to why you first wanted a 911.Sounds like you have sorted all the problems now, go and drive it and enjoy, because if you don't someone else will after all your efforts to get thngs right!!!

Hi chaps, thanks for the replys, its not the cost of the premium its the fact its gone up by £80 quid for no real reason in my opinion, I just sometimes think that they are taking the michael a bit[&:]

As for the repairs the car is great now, it was before but now its seems newer & fresher, but the problem is I dont use it as much as I thought I would due kids, bikes & golf etc, I use my 4x4 95% of the time.

I am tempted to replace my wifes car when its due for renewal next year with a late 996 or early 997, as the 4x4 is a more important tool for the needs of my family, next week I will be carrying 5 possibly 6 mountain bikes plus a boot full of kit so that rules out changing that car[:)] plus I do love the 4x4, at least if i change the Mrs car we then have just cars that will cover both jobs that will them mean only 2 premiums, 2 services etc etc & they would get used[8D]

As I said I am not 100% yet but I am seriously considering it, they are making good money to, so although I have spent a lot on her at least the impact wont have a massive hit as i will get all the money back that I paid for her if not a bit more as she is a low miler[:)]

Thanks chaps

Don't sell it, you've done all that work on it, now is the time to enjoy it. Summer's here !! I still miss my 964 - with all it's faults you'll never find another car with the same character.

Hillcrest cars get my vote too.

Simon is a top man who really knows his stuff.

I wouldn't take my car anywhere else. Good value too...

Kdean, yes Simon is great, brilliant value, & he has done a very good job, the car drives so well, & god it can go, took it to Birmigham yesterday to give it a real good run & it was awesome[:D]

Mark, I know what your saying, but as I said I have not yet decided, I just don't know, I am enjoying up, but it make sense to go back to 2 cars, the wifes up for a change so who knows, I will just think about it, but I do like the s version of the current cars, a mate has an 04 997 C4S in black and its stunning[8D]

Watch this space[&:]

My insurance is Bell, and got renewal down to £410. 9000 p.a, vol excess of £250, business, garaged, standard alarm and immob.

Funnily enough Admiral (Bell's sister company!) quoted me £405!!

Leaves me some for some projects.....Cup pipe anyone?
