INSURANCE VALUATIONS

Does anyone recommend where I can get my car valued for insurance purposes?? In previous years I have sent the form into the Club to Steve Kevlin, but was disappointed on the value they gave it (£19K). I am looking for my car to be valued at £22K, as I know to find another in the same condition would mean months of searching and there areb't many as good as mine about - and that's what other 3.2 owners have said at recent concours events. The car is 39K mile 3.2 coupe in concours condition. My insurance is due for renewal v.soon so I need to get the value confirmed soon. Please help.

I too was disappointed with the official club valuation I received. I have been in a few classic car clubs and they all seem much more generous in terms of recognising the budget required to find as good a car as we have already. It took me over a year of looking to find my 3.2 which I paid £19k for and then got a £16k valuation from the club. Perhaps I paid too much but the car I found was signifiacantly better than the cars I looked at which were £16k. This was 3 years ago and prices seem to have dropped back a little since then,

I had no problem getting my insurers (Heritage) to agree the valuation at my purchase price. 3.2 '89 Supersport Cab 22k miles.Totally original and top dollar paid They didnt even ask for the bill of sale. Just provided photos.Yet when we first insured my ladys 944 s 2 I think they asked for the invoice and the photos. However every year since purchase on renewal the agreed value has been at the original price. If your struggling maybe change your insurer if they wont accept your original invoice and photos

Not sure how strong our cars valaution are in light of the depressing decline in 996's, just saw one on Ebay 1998 996 C2 78K with remaining warrantee, HPI clear a buy it now price if £24k....yes £24k! it got sold instantly

Ok a bit tongue in ckeek although true, I think our residuals still remain relatively strong but just wonder if sooner or later we will see some impact based on the declining prices of later models

I agree with Simon, I use Lancaster who were fine with mine..I put on my form the original asking price, and they knocked it down ......to the price I actually paid!
