INSURANCE

I would be interested to see how circumstances compare for insurance.

I have a Carrera 2 on a classic policy retricted to 3000 miles pa. I am 45 with no accidents or endorsements and I live in a rural area so I "should" be low risk. A trawl of several of the suppliers advertising in Porsche Post revealed renewal options of £420-£450.

Anyone managed to get sorted for less? If so who with?

Robert

Hi Robert Same age, rural location, garaged, full no claims. I've just had a renewal quote for my C4 from Admiral for £326 (£750 excess). However the C4 is sold (offer accepted) and with the purchase of my 993tt Admiral quoted £540. That seemed a bit steep so I shopped around and have taken a classic policy with Classic Line (recommended by a number of members) for £375 (only £250 excess) on limited milage of 5k pa for the turbo.

Thanks Stewart Others may also be interested to know that I secured cover with Lancaster Insurance at what seems to be a very competitive £238. Regards Robert

Not less, but undoubtedly I'm a higher risk with 3 points and in a risky part of east London and 40 years old. £499 from ClassicLine. They have been the cheapest for the past 4 years or so.
