Can any one recommended a insurance company that won't scare the life out of me cars to be insurured r 997 turbo and 993 turbo thanks for any help

Try www.comparethemarket.com - I got my annual premium down from £690 to £284 (not a turbo) which was the lowest of 54 quotes it offered me, ranging up to £1600! Went with LV at £284. Painless (and you get a Meerkat!)

Manning UK seem to find good rates for me each year - they swap around underwriter depending on what's happening in the market. Not turbo or 997 but I'm sure they will find you something. Gyles Haigh-Austin on +44(0)1491 578759 ext: 208

I have used RH Insurance services for some years. I got below £200 this year for a 993 with agreed value. This is a restricted mileage policy of 1500/yr but even a restriction of 5000 miles/yr adds about £60. A contact from within the region mentioned a firm in Llandudno he had dealt with for years. They are called Gott and Wynne. Google them for a number and let me know how you get on. Regards Robert

Anyone know what happens if you want to extend the miles on a limited policy? I seem to have done loads of miles this year[:)] and I've only 500 left to last me until late March[:(]. Last year I only did about 50 miles from December to March and the snow is back so perhaps I'll be OK but I just wondered what happens - does the policy just end and you pay for a new year early?

Would also recommend manning uk. Speak to Gyles as Paul suggests. I thought about moving from them a few months back, but the only company that were near to them was classic line. I didn't want to move cover though after making a claim they were really professional, which is only when you can tell if any insurer is any good imo

You can put the 993TT on a classic policy and use your NCB on the 997TT, Use one of the online sites to get a base line and then follow the recommendations below from the members.

I insured for several years with aviva direct ,but changed to classicline for agreed value and other benefits. Christian...................

Thanks guys have tryed a few of your suggestions the cheapest I've found is 1250 for the 993 T and add 200 for the 997 I have full no claims ten years but 6 points for speeding just seems to have doubled from last years quotes so its pay up or shut up I suppose unless any can suggest any thing thanks

I have alwasy steered clear of web sites such as Compare the market. However, I did use it last time and finished up with several quotes with comparable cover for a lot less than quotes over the phone! Worth a try[;)]

I got my 993 with Aviva for about £280, when I bought my wife her new car (Seat Ibiza) they added on to a multicar policy, both with seperate NCD and protected for £166. I now have all 3 cars with Aviva, at what I think is a good price.

I ended up insuring with AON but I had to haggle with the prices using compare the market as a negotiating tool. I also had the 993 on a classic car policy as its over 10 years old. And no, I don't own a doberman called Heidi guarding it!

Andreas Classic Line +1 Like Christian I've changed to them recently, www.classiclineinsurance.co.uk/porsche-insurance. Was with Adrian Flux for years and I got the rate halved through Classic Line, now £405 / year (8000 miles / year restricted, business and social use, 6 points). They sponsor PCGB or similar and recognise membership with a reduction to your premium which is already lower than most to start with. HTH

Classic Line +1, too Remember that to have an ‘agreed value’ is most important, as otherwise you won’t get near the proper value of your car if the worst happens to it! [;)]

Thanks very much have found insurance with classic line for the 993TT at £ 595 which I'm very happy with still struggling with the 997T as they wouldn't quote for that as its stays on my drive rather then the garage but will carry on looking that's again for your help

Try Porsche Insurance Services (Marsh 0845 600 6502) for the 997 turbo. Mine came in at under £700 last time around.

Oh that reminds me why I did not use classicline - they demand a garage. I'd like to build one but just won't work with the way the house and land are organized.
