Hi

I know this is asked from time to time but can anyone recomend a good but inexpensive insurance company? Boxter 2.9 2009

56 clean licence and 10 years+NCB but some of the quotes I am getting are simply crazy £1300!!!!!!!!!!

thanks

Not quite the same vehicle - my Boxster is 2000 3.2S. Cheapest quote last year was from Endsliegh at ~£450 This year (looked to renew only yesterday) cheapest quote is Direct Line at £340.

Thanks will give them a try I suppose its my post code (central Birmingham) despite haveing the car garaged behind security gateswith cctv and security patrols!

Im 56 clean licence full NCB, garaged at night, not business use, 3.2s Admiral last year charged me £405.

Or try Saga I paid about £500 last year with business use and unlimited European travel. Otherwise I've found Pearts to be good on Porsche. Where are you? It sounds as though something is bringing up high risk, is it for daily driver or a second car? If the latter then it may be best to get a limited mileage policy with no NCD allowance.

Just spotted this thread on Pistonheads: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=48&t=1091055

It's more of a lottery than ever ... just have to shop around. For me Adrian Flux were the best deal this year.

what that thread on pistonheads illustrates is that we all have to shop around - the variables are ever increasing and you have to find the company that at any particular time is competitive given your personal circumstances. There is no easy way to do this other than shop around - every time you renew. This year Adrian Flux were the cheapest quote for me - clearly were not for others... go figure.

sorry for two posts - I'd got an error message after my first, so assumed it had failed to send, so I went off and read the pistonheads thread, then came back and re-posted. [&:]

Try compare the market, they quoted me £340 using diamond which is part of Admiral i think for a 2.7 boxster 04 and i'm only 34! Touch wood i'v had a clean licence since 17!

I've had the same problem i owned a Ferrari 308 GTS for 18 years with Aon / Footman James. I then sold the car and bought a boxster 3.2s 2002 manual, when i enquired in August 2010 the told me that i couldn't have the same policy. This was due to the car not being 10 years old+. They wouldn't allow me any NCB because it was on a classic car policy. I was quoted £1200-00 through them, i shopped around and i paid £740-00. I now have a policy with Admiral which i've attached 3 cars to it i have an Alfa 147 2.0 lusso and my wifes MB 230E. It's a group policy but each indivdual car has it's own NCB. Incidently i pay £470-00 for the Boxster so its quite good. Regards, Martin

Thanks guys I will try Saga and Adrian flux certainly. Pearts quoted over £1000 Adrian Flux failed to respond to an online quote Compare the market come up with the best so far ONE CAll (new outfit) at £587 ut I have not heard of them so am a little wary! Last year Saga wernt interested. I do use for the daily comute (no businesss) but not during peak times and my milage is limited to 8K no other cars on the policy my wife is on the policy not that she drives it ad that brings the cost down a bit actually. Post code is B16 central Birmingham but actually a good deal more secure than my last home that was rural AAny one heard of ONE CALL Thanks for the replies
