Well it is that time of the year again ,got my renewal in from Saga (you will all be 60+ some day so no comments ) Fully comp. 6 years protected NCD £100 excess all the bells and whistles £365 .Gets a call to ask are you renewing again this year said I was going to look around so he said increase the excess to £250 and he could do it for £320 always though £100 a bit low as most £300-500 excess .Have never been impressed by the Confussed .com sites though I would give then a try so went on to Moneysupermarket.com and got a quote from AA same level of cover as I have at present phoned then up to confirm a few details they said they are also brokers and search for the best quote so the end result is £223 with £500 excess or £243 with £250 excess and wait for it quess who it is with .....yes SAGA does not make any sence why cannot they offer the same deal ,as I have the Skoda with them as well

I just discovered a HUGE benefit with SAGA (not sure what other also might offer this)
I just bought an Audi A2 TDi to use for business mileage. I haven't sold any of my existing cars, it's an extra. This is usually a disaster, cos you have to start all over again with zero NCB. Not with SAGA, they "mirrored" my full NCB for the new policy with no argument. Result is £145 fully comp for the Audi, and as it costs £35 a year in road tax it is costing me less to run than a medium sized motorbike. Result!
Also paying less than £300 for the Cayman. Being an old git has its rewards!

31, Full no claims and No Points - £625 with Sainsburys Insurance. Only problem with them is that they do not insure me for track days so will probably be changing come renewal time.
Alison - Must have been difficult getting a quote as I did not think you could get insured for a Porsche until you were over 25?[]
Brian - I thought you were joking about having a Skoda - Do you have one of those "humorous" tags hanging down from your rear windscreen that says - MY OTHER CAR IS A PORSCHE.

I do have one of those signs ...and looking out for one that says My other car is a SKODA to stick on the PORSCHE[][]
Dont knock them have had the car for 5 years and it has been faultless and the insurance for it is £179 full business use....the most reliable car I have ever owned in fact I am possibly getting another one and you know how many cars I have had !!

I've always thought the secret to cheap insurance is restricted mileage policies. Mind you, that's also what stops me from going on anything like the trips to Le Mans or Spa.
Don't worry AK"”after my thirtieth birthday car insurance dropped like a stone. You still have that to look forward to!

I'm sending you a virtual "V".
Its depressing enough losing that 20 something status. Worse when you're out with your friend who is only 8 months younger than you, and SHE gets asked for ID and you don't. Then there's the whole wrinkes issue, not to mention the multi million pound anti-cellulite cream industry that I appear to be solely funding.
Still...I'm not 40!
