Just in case this is of use to anyone, I've just gone through the process of ringing around for insurance renewal on my 944S2 after St Pauls came through with a slightly increased premium. Hit brick walls with almost everyone then just before I gave in I tried AXA and was quoted around €650 less than St Pauls were offering for fully comprehensive cover. It even came out cheaper than XSDirect, but has a €250 excess vs. XSDirect's €4,000 excess.

Very pleased so thought I'd share this in case someone else is trying to work out who to call for their renewal!

Im paying E 450 for an '85 911 Cabrio on a Comp. limited milage classic 2nd car policy through First Ireland Risk Management (AXA). Rang them recently for a quote on a 964 as a third car policy and they quoted me E650 fully comp. , no limited milage which I thought was quite good. (didn't buy the 964 though !).

Cheers

Thanks for the tip Keggers, must check them out.
If you are prepaired to put an xs direct policy in the wife's name you will reduce the excess to about 2k

Check the small print Mark... As far as I recall, the excess in the event of a claim for a male driver is still 4k.

Penfold..............Not if you blame the bit#ch for the crash !!!

Now now... that would be fraud... and we wouldnt want to defraud those nice people in Wrights of Wexford who run the scheme....

Actually, in fairness, I know one guy in his mid 20's driving a boxster - purely because that policy made it affordable. I guess its horses for courses.....

I'm in the republic, called Carole Nash & was pretty happy with the quote they gave me. They do UK and Ireland so might be worth giving them a shout.

Should mention its classic insurance I have, but someone said any Porsche over 15 years old qualifies as a classic with them.

Cheers guys. Went with a 6 wheel policy to cover my bike as well, got £170 of my renewal cost! I'm definately in the wrong business.......
