Hi guys, anyone know of a few Insurance companies which I could try?
Just purchased a C4S 2002 and have tried confused e.t.c but wondered if any other options available to me.
Thanks any suggestions would be great.
Edd.

Sorry to say you have to do the legwork and try out a few.

Nowadays it seems that two people with similar circumstances can get wildly different quotes. Individual insurers have their own specific concerns and for that reason you need to shop around: Age, experience, NCD, convictions, other drivers, where car's kept, location, track days, overseas cover .......etc will all carry different weightings for different companies.

However if it's any help, I got a great quote through AON last year and Direct Line the year before. Neither was competitive with their renewal quote [&:]

Hi Eddie... Welcome to the wonderful world of C4S... I bought mine just before Christmas and had a wonderful time looking for insurance NOT! I have no "no-claims" bonus as have had company cars for the past 15 years...

Anyway eventually I found A-Plan (01635 874646) they were recommended and brilliant! Decent cover under £600 fully comp etc. Mileage limited to 8000pa.

There is a great Insurance thread on the 996 forum. http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=275221 Plenty of recommendations.

Enjoy the car, Cheers

Have you tried Campbells in Coleraine?

I don't know if your car is old enough to qualify for classic insurance, but I got a really good deal from Campbells for my 968 - limited mileage, of course.

Maybe worth a try.

Good luck, and enjoy the car!

Just got insurance on a 3.2 Carrera through the club. Very glad I joined recently!
Footman James decided to drop me from my current classic car policy as the car was less than 30 yrs old (although virtually the same as my '76 3.0 Carrera).
Couldn't get insured for less than £370 elsewhere. The club (Chubb underwrote through Lockton insurance brokers) covered me for £260. 7500 miles a year, Breakdown and track days included!

I used AON/Footman James but I do shop around to make sure I am getting a good price. Also have a look at the back pages in the classifieds of the specialist mags (911&PW, Total 911, GT). Depending on the insurer they may classify the car on a classic car policy as it is over 10 years old.

Eddie,

I have been with ClassicLine for 4 years now & despite getting quotes from others when my renewal came around they were always the better value for money & the bonus of an agrred valuation which has always been +£3 to £4k above market value.

Obviously, this topic is always contentious as it does depend on Postcode Lottery age, profession etc,.
