Three Region Karting Challenge "" Priory Park, Tamworth - 17 April 2009

Ron Miles has very kindly volunteered to organise a Karting Event. This will be a 2-hour endurance event to be held at the Priory Park outdoor circuit at Priory Park, Robeys Lane, Alvecote, Tamworth B78 1AS ( Tel 01827 899800 ) -www.priorypark.co.uk.

Owing to the numbers required, Region 9 has challenged Regions 8 and 13 to provide teams for the event to establish which region have the best Kart drivers.
This event will be held on Friday 17th April from 5.30 pm. We have space for 36 drivers and the event which will be divided into teams of 3.
The cost will be £40.00 per driver.
If individual Regions do not have a full team, do not worry, as we can assemble teams on the night. There is a very good indoor spectator viewing area, so even if you do not want to drive, you can still come along and enjoy the action and atmosphere at a great Porsche Club Event over the Easter period.
Hot food and soft drinks will be available on the night.

For further details please contact either Paul Seagrave on 01676 530233 or r9@porscheclubgb.com, Ron Miles 01926 511917 rdamiles@yahoo.co.uk

Just to clarify it is a endurance race [:)] rather than just heats... on average each driver will get about 40 minutes of driving on the night!!
Apparently they have just had some new super karts too!!

Speaking with Paul yesterday, 27 places have already been booked.
This leaves only a few remaining places to represent your region. [:)]

Paul mentioned last night he was after a couple more people to represent the region for this event..
Get in touch if you think you could be that person [:)]

Mike, I can only let you know what I know and that is,

Arrival for 5.30pm for sign on and introductions, expected karting start time is 6pm -6.30pm and from there on it Go-Go-Go for two hours or until your arms fall off [;)]
You can take your own helmets if you want but as per all karting centres they have plenty available...
I've been told its teams of 3 persons and the strategy is down to the individual teams. After that I know no more myself [&:]

Fridays weather looks a bit wet [&:] but it does open up the field for karting[;)]
See you there [:D]

Just checked out the BBC weather for tomorrow and it looks like it might stay dry. Shame, I love it in the wet (karting that is) [;)]!

Still don't know whether I'm driving for East or West, who wants me ??

Depends upon if you're winning or not...[;)]

I think the time from sign on to start is where Paul and the guys will sort the teams out... I'm sure West Midlands will be happy to have you representing them [:)]

Well West midlands got at least a second, but I don't know what region the winners were representing [&:]
A good turnout last night and a proper finish going right down to the line with the first two teams finishing on the same amount of laps which considering it was a 2 hour race is quite impressive [:)]

Thanks for a great night. Feeling a bit bruised and battered today - but well worthwhile. We managed a third place - despite me losing about 2 seconds a lap for my teammates. We need to do it again - if only to give me the chance to get quicker!

Mike, you and me alike!!

Those number 10 & 8 karts were quick machines!!
Hopefully it will be ran again after the great support from this event... a good response for one of Pauls (new RO) first few events..

It was fantastic fun and extremely well organised, thanks chaps! The winning made it all the sweeter!

As for which region, I think you'll have to ask Paul to adjudicate, I did say that I was a bit on the border [;)] and did offer my services to both regions!
