Interesting Car seeking more information and a valuation

A good friend of mine and his partner have owned the following car since '98 and are lookiung to sell it. I have seen it in their garage a few years ago and it is certainly an eye-full. It would need to be re-commissioned as it has been stood for many years but it is nicely stored in a modern, clean domestic garage.

If anyone has any useful comment/interest/knowledge about this car, please chip-in. I will forward any information to Russ/Julie and put any potential buyer in touch.

My opinion is that they should contact someone like SCOM who could handle the full re-commision and the sale. I reckon that this car would generate some serious interest albeit not from me! Read on:

As discussed, details on the car

Manufactured ..Dr Ing h c F Porsche AG in. Germany jan 1992 to gulf countries spec Sold to Kuwait on 27/07/92 ...Porsche dealership Behbehani Motors took delivery

First owner was Sheika Reem

964 Carrera 2 Turbo look Cabriolet
Wimbledon Green, Tiptronic

VIN - WP0ZZZ96ZNS451361
Model Info - 1992 964 650
Country Equip - C32
Country/Region - KU

Approx 70,000 km

Jules owned since 1998.

Story came to us was only 7 of this car and style manufactured for King of Kuwait. No log book or service history for first 4 years whilst with the Sheika, but Porshe Kuwait have the car turning up on their computer records in 1996, pre 1996 it was manual records and no file can be found..because it was with the royal family, all very secretive, but in keeping with how I would imagine things are over there.
We have the Porsche Kuwait service records from 1996 .

Hopefully this detail will help us find factual info on the number made and in turn help us value the car.

By coincidence there's a similar car in the PH classfieds:

Steve,

Quick work there, Steve. Well spotted. It's a small world - one of my colleagues' boyfriend is the photographer for that dealer.

The car in the PH link was on sale at another Porsche indy (in the Aylesbury area) at the end of last summer for a lot less ...

That sounds about right for that dealer.

However, does anyone think that this car has that certain ingredient to push the value up?

It's a real Chav-mobile, a turquoise Cabrio with full pink interior, wide - bodied and that intriguing history, as well as rarity value.

It really is the polar opposite of anything that interests me but I assumed there would be interest in the current climate. I may be wrong (again!).

Ian.

I would not pay more than £20,000 depending on documented history if its not a factory built turbo or anniversary turbo bodied 1994 carrera 2 or 4 or Super Sport or Speedster.

I imagine that discerning buyers would be put off by a full pink interior ... [:'(]
