Interesting Ebay Find

Do you spend all day, every day trawling Ebay? [:D] You're always finding interesting snippets.

Keep up the good work though as thanks to you I have had delivered TWO sets of clear indicator lenses for £29.50 a set. One set is already fitted to Debbies S2 and gorgeous they look too.

(ps I should have your Ebay parts with me on Sunday at Cornbury)

I thought "How cool is that?" until I saw the price.

I'm still not convinced that my Specs Stage II clutch and lightened flywheel are the best modification I've ever done.

The car may rev slightly more freely, but slow speed manoeuvring makes you look like a complete ******.

Beaky does seem to break traction more readily now so, perhaps, he was slipping his clutch more frequently than I realised before.

I tend to agree - I remain unconvinced it makes any difference to rev increase speed when the clutch is engaged, but it does mean you have trouble holding a specific speed when it's depressed and you need to give it a few more revs to avoid the judder. Would you guys put this down to the clutch itself, or just the fact that you've had the flywheel lightened?

I'm not having my flywheel lightened as I'm of the view that the heavier the better for a smoother drive and idle in a predominantly road car

Paul,
I have been honeing my Porsche search for a couple of years to sift out the rubbish & just show the good stuff. [:D][:D]

I think the clutch causes the judder, the lighter fly just makes it harder to get the optimum revs dialled in to drive around it.

Im not sure if you chaps remember,,, BUT a while ago i posted a thread ALL about SPEC clutches + the JUDDER they make....[8|][8|][8|]
I now think ive got to the bottom of why my car did just that....
I think its got TURBO engine mounts fitted to it....
Aparently they are different to standard S2 ones in the respect the turbo ones dont move anywhere near as much, thereby not absorbing the judder as much as standard ones....[8|][8|]
So those of you who have got Turbos + fit a Spec clutch,, you have been warned.....
Ive now got a "standard" clutch fitted to the car. It still judders slightly [ i think its bedding in],but nothing like it used to.....

My Spec was fitted long before that thread, and it isn't too bad really anyway, just needs an extra 500rpm and it smoothes out OK. I have to say I think the judder is the gearbox moving around and a stiffer mount is what it needs. I can't see how softer mounts would help - maybe mask the judder from the driver I guess, but on balance I think I'd rather know when it's happening and try to prevent it than be blissfully unaware I'm shaking my engine every time I pull away.
