Interesting RUF 964 on Ebay!

It looks remarkably light on information. As far as I can tell, the cars which Ruf produced in the late eighties were all turbocharged - the claimed 190mph top speed would agree with that although it's surprising that the ad doesn't mention it.

The wheels look right and the condition seems pretty good from the limited pictures. The 6 speed 'box is right for a Ruf produced car although it doesn't mention if it's a C2 or a C4. It would be interesting to get a little more information. Adrian Streather is the man who could tell us more I'm sure.

If it IS what it purports to be I'd guess it's pretty rare - and I'd hate to imagine what price it might go for.

Regards

Dave

i seem to remember this is a converted , bored 3.2 with big bumpers ,hence 3.4 in ad .dont think its a turbo so 190mph is a tad wrong, think i remember this from an ad a while back and the car wasnt expensive for a ruf conversion , who would want it though?

If I was selling a car like that I would take the time and at least drag it out of the garage for some better pictures, wouldn't you!

looks like its been left somewhere sale or return, (price in window) suppose the garage would wonder why you want it outside for photos...suppose you could get sucked in to paying £15000 on ebay then be offered £9000 at a dealer when you want to sell it

you could get sucked in to paying £15000 on ebay then be offered £9000 at a dealer when you want to sell it

:ROFLMAO:£9000 from a dealer!!! And so far nobody has been sucked into the starting price and I doubt they will be unless the Extra Ordinary hot weather gets to them :ROFLMAO:

Going by the screen it looks like the garage are asking 16.5K for it, or is it 18.5!!

Either way if it's a genuine turbo RUF it seems cheap!

Well, I guess there's one way to find out for certain.....and a Ruf 6 speed box seems like a lot of effort for a fake!
I'll let you know in due course.....and Keith, as a fellow 930 owner, if you can rack your brains as to where you've come across it before I'd appreciate it. Yourself and your mates seem to have an encyclopaedic knowledge of the classified ads.
One other thing; sticking to my normal remit, I do know a bit about the blue Ruf turbo on eBay. Virtually certain that it isn't, but they are nice wheels - almost made up for the blue Hammerited luggage compartment interior!
It's been doing the trade rounds since the beginning of the year. Last time I saw it in the metal ( 6-8 weeks ago) it needed a new exhaust system. I believe it was built for trackdays by Junction 8 cars near Silverstone, presumably after it was written off.

I assume you've bought it unseen John. It looks pretty tidy & is ok at that price even for a standard Targa so I dont think you can go wrong!

When do you pick it up?

We want the full lowdown on it....pics too please.....[:D]

The best of luck on your purchase....fingers crossed!!

hi john, im trying to think where i read about this one i think it must have been 'tried and tested' in 911 world but im sure its not a 964 nor a turbo, ill try and rack my brains. are you collecting 911s or trading now?
