I did explain that the two doors in my wardrobe were, effectively, my pension.
IN your wardrobe?????
Surely they should BE the doors to the wardrobe?

Along with the bed made out of a 944 chassis, the engine block coffee table I lost on e-bay, the pinstripe conversion for the Scooby interior....

I now own 3 doors for a 944 - the 2 usual ones and a spare driver's door. All 3 appear to have a different distance from the front edge of the door to the centre of the hinge. Assuming that this is the case, you can't assume that the door off one 944 is going to fit another properly. As if to prove this theory, the driver's door on my car is noticeably too far forward and doesn't shut nicely. Of course, I don't know for sure that it's come off a different car, but that's what I'm guessing.
The hinge is welded to the door, so any differences in position must stem from the original build.
So even if you do get rammed in the door and have a spare in your wardrobe - there's a fair chance it won't fit nicely anyway []

Ah.......but if you followed my advice and fit the 944 door to the wardrobe, this will leave the wooden wardrobe door free to be fettled by our resident Wood expert John Sims. I am sure that a mere 5 minutes with his wittling blade will produce a perfect fit that just leaves the door ready for a final coat of varnish []
