Interior Codes

Irish944Turbo

I' m looking at a turbo and the paint code/ interior trim code is L041/ L041. This i understand is black exterior and balck interior, however, this car has black exterior and beige leather interior. Have i read this wrong, or is the interior codes a different colour listing.

Cheers

Mark, i' ve done a bit more research on this. The exterior/interior codes on the service book i believe describe not the seats but the trim, i.e. the dashboard. Therefore, L041/L041 is a black porsche with a black interior trim. Other trim colours are burgundy, grey, brown etc. The code does not actually describe the colour of carpets / glovebox / seats at all. These have individual trim colour codes. Anyone agree / disagree?

This is often confusing and I blame Porsche for this. I know the sticker in the service manual points to section 4 as being ' Paint code/ Interior trim' but I believe when they put two codes there that are the same it is just refering to the external colour.

The later 944 paint codes are shown here: http://members.optusnet.com.au/~dr_scott/paint.htm

My Turbo sticker says LM5P/LM5P which is Dove Blue. My interior is linen leather

My wifes S2 sticker says LY9Z/LY9Z which is Panthero Black. Her interior is also linen

Your prospective Turbo says L041/L041 which is Black.

I do believe that Irish944 is right, the second part of the code refers to the colour of the dash and not the seats etc. Teutonic amibiguity at its best [&:]

I tried! I dug out old sales brouchures I bought when I had my 85.5 and 88 model 944' s, trawled through Peter Morgans book, searched the web. But could not really find anything that said for sure. [&o]

Sorry.

Diver944 - I found the same info on that webpage - but I guess your 2 cars clinches the same code theory.[:)]
