Interior colour

I am picking up my new 993 tomorrow (trading in my 964) and one of the jobs I want to do is spruce up the leather on the drivers seat where it is a scraped.

Is there anywhere I should look for a code in the service book to identify it.
The car is a 96 MY C4 with hard back sports seats, which are light grey.
Looking at a web site offering porsche leather touch ups there are 3 shades of grey, classic grey, marble grey and light grey.
Any advice on what this colour is likely to be would be greatly appreciated.

Paul (nearly the owner of a 993)

Hi Paul,

My knowledge of Porsche 993 interior colours is not extensive, however, when I was looking to buy a car I found also that there were three shades of grey which were as follows :-

Marble Grey - Can not be mistaken as it is very pale and also is very common.
Classic Grey - Medium coloured grey, not as common as above.
Rubicon Grey - Darker than classic with almost a hint purply blue, quite rare.

I would question that the light grey and marble grey that you mention could be the same.

I ended up with a 993 with Boxster Red interior and I have cleaned and conditioned the leather using Gliptone products and have also used their Scuffmaster touch up kits to address the scratches and scuffs in the leather. The touching up is a bit of a fiddle but if you are patient the results are well worth it. I purchased these from the following link http://www.liquidleather.com./ The guy who runs this company is to put it politely a little abrasive but know his stuff.

If you have not already seen it have a look at the article on the Porsche forum "Technical Articles > Body > Leather Care" http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=240058

Can also recommend following all "jac in a box" guides for cleaning, polishing and waxing. I have never met Dave but his advice worked for me.

Hope you enjoy your new purchase[:)]

I would guess that it is marble that you have. Is it this colour? If so it is marble.
