I've just been out to look at why my heater is fully hot unless turned fully cold, and it's the usual problem of the broken clip on the linkage rod. I've fixed that, but whilst there I noticed that (and I know they do fail anyway) the likely cause of the clip breaking was that the linkage was being caught in amongst the cable looms from the clock & fag lighter.
I suspect they have been removed previously and have been put back with incorrect cable routing. I have pulled them out of the way which allows the linkage to move freely now, although as they are the clock wiring still moves slightly with the linkage.
Should there be a cover over the linkage/servo unit? If not, does anyone know or have pictures of how the cabling should be routed.
I could cable tie it up out of the way, but that would cause problems if you tried to remove the dash panel that houses the clock, etc - well, without pulling glove box out and removing tie wraps beforehand.
Still, will be nice to have some controlled heating now we're heading towards winter!!
