Interior light and power window wierdness.

Right, time to ask for a little help. Having put the doors back on White944, I need to sort the electrics. From day 1, the nearside window hasn't worked, and the interior lights don't work from the door switches. For some reason, I have now lost all power to the window switches. The fuse is intact, If I jump the relay contacts in the fuse board I can power up the door switches and operate the drivers door window so the wiring from the relay to the drivers door is good. The window relay is a 5 pin job with some electronics inside. I found this diagram on Clarks Garage, which is great, but looking at the relay on the left, can anyone confirm that pin 85b labelled 'Door Contact' is connected to the drivers door interior light switch? If anyone can point me in the direction of a schematic of the interior light circuit, that would be helpful too.

Thanks in advance[:D]

The door-open contact switches interact with the electric windows via the relay. It's a feature which allows you operate the electric windows with the ignition off, by opening either door. I suspect you need to sort the door contact switches out :)

In my car I used to get a relay going nuts with the doors open, it was the power window relay the door switches were a bit corroded

Aaah. I wonder if the relay's fried. It's been sat for weeks with the doors off (so effectively open) and the battery connected.

Thanks I'll give it a try if you can find it. The door switch is grounding 85b, and everything else is there, so I reckon the relay is toast. If I put in a standard 4 pin relay, I have the windows working for now. Turned out the passenger window was stuck solid, all lubed up and working now.[:)]
Still no interior light. Works from the switch on the lamp but not from the doors. Will have to double check the switches. Are there any hidden relays, timers or anything in the circuit on an '85.5 oval?
Just to add to my misery, the immobiliser also decided to pack up today. It now resides in the bin[]

I found weirdness with my passenger window switch. While repairing the driver side window regulator (the glass slipped in the channel) I took the door card off the passenger side to measure the lateral placement of the glass in the channel. During reassembly, a wire "fell out" of the window switch - clearly a cold solder. There were no problems with it before dis assembly but the joints were fragile enough to come apart with a little handling. I soldered it back up and all good again.
