Hello all. I'm about to introduce myself into the world of Porsche by buying a 3.2 Carrera Targa (can't wait!). Haven't found one yet as I'm taking my time and looking at as many as possible. I wondered if anyone could guide me as to the sort of costs I'd be looking at to re-trim seats and replace carpets etc. Some of the cars I've looked at have fairly tired and worn interiors and I want to make sure I pay the right price after taking these into account...

I have found the Southbound site but they dont list their prices.

Thanks!

Welcome Les the best advice I can give you is pick up the phone and call Dave Nunn at Southbound, he's very helpful, no pressure. There are so many variables it would be impossible to quote for every eventuality. Last time I asked a fitted set of standard Porsche carpets at Southbound was about £650.00 fitted - £400.00 if you DIY.

Hi Les,

Welcome to Porsche - well, you're almost an owner but in my view anyone who wants one is as good as those who already own one!

You'll quickly find that one of the greatest joys of being a Porsche owner is the warm and open welcome you'll experience from the PCGB members. Porsche owners are amongst the most down-to-earth, friendly and helpful people you could ever hope to meet, as I've found out myself since finally buying my first 911 earlier this year after yearning for one since I was a kid (a dream shared by most of us, it seems!)

The other joy will be the unrivalled smile factor of driving your 911 when you find the right one for you. I admit that I still can't fully believe that the gorgeously curvy and uniquely styled wunder car parked outside my house is truly mine. No other car looks or sounds or drives like one of these, and you will love it, I guarantee.

If I sound like a bit of a car nerd, I'm not - and you'll be babbling in the same way before the sun sets on your first day of ownership!

Welcome! [:)]

PS There are great people with a lot of experience and advice to give in this club, so enjoy that too. And Bones (Peter) is an absolute diamond. [;)]

I already have a cheesy grin and I haven't even bought one yet! This certainly looks like the place to be in terms of advice etc...I'll give Southbound a call.

Thanks and I look forward to many more posts...

Welcome, and good luck in your search.

If it's of any interest when you get to it, I have a pair of door trim panels and door bins, black leather and black carpet respectively, recently bought from Southbound. However, part-ex'd the car they were going into (82 SC Targa) before they arrived. My 3.2 has a grey interior []. So they're for sale, still boxed and brand new. Happy to negotiate...

If you're interested, e-mail me on martin@westofenglandestates.co.uk

Cheers

How much do you want for them ?

If you don't want to post a price on the forum, then send me an e mail.
