INTERIOR TRIM PANEL on my 2012 997,2 C4S Cab

The finish on the trim panel to the left of the PDK shifter, around the transmission tunnel, is bubbling/blistering.
Has anyone else experienced this and do you have any idea what may cause it?
My local Independent Porsche specialist suggested the panels are factory spray painted with a "rubberised paint" and the fix it easily done, by a proffessional, but I would like to understand why it occured and despite getting it repaired, could it occur again?
