I am looking getting my 3.2 Carrera Targa re-carpeted and the targa roof section needs the interior lining replacing - does anyoe have any experience of specialists in the Bedfordshire area? Any views on cost? I am aware of and have previously used " Southbound" , but they are near the southcoast which is not ideal.

Hi Mike,

Some years ago I had my Targa top on the SC I owned recovered and retrimmed by a company on the old Wolverton Rd in MK, near the railway. I don' t know if they are still there but they were highly recommended and did a great job.

I can pop in and see if there still there if you like as I can' t remember their name. Its only 2 minutes from me so its no trouble.

Cheers

On this subject, I once remember painting the roof lining of my old Cortina Mk2 166 E with a special paint. It smelt like pear drops, caused the roof lining to sag as it went on, but when dry, was totally like new, without brush marks, and the perfect blend of matt / satin.

I also recall that it was highly " aromatic" ..and was a superb way to spend a few hours (just don' t walk near naked flames after you' ve used it...)

if the people in Wolverton know where this paint went to I' d be very pleased to hear it.

Thanks

Steve

Sorry guys....

Went round the Old Wolverton Rd today but the place is all boarded up and in a sorry looking state. The sign is still on the road outside ' Chisholm Trimmers Ltd' but there not there anymore. I' ve looked in Thompson, Yellow Pages and the phone book but no luck. A search on the web brought up a few references and a phone number but the numbers not recognised.

Back to square one I guess. [8|]

Cheers

Andy
