intermitent brake shudder

Husband's question.

Just had new track rod ends, torsion bar bushes, and front suspension overhaul including new brake pads.

Now have an intermitent shudder on the brakes, not around town, but if slowing down from 60mph steering rattles. Quite a lot! but not always. Tracking has been done although still has a slight pull to the left, could this be the cause? Or would it be the new pads bedding in? Or even worse out of line discs?

Thanks in advance

Just speculating but the pulling to the left could be a symptom not a cause.

As the shuddering is more apparent when braking from speed it might be due to warped discs.

944 discs aren't spectacularly expensive. I'd replace them and see what happens.

.....but before you do that it might be prudent to call the garage that did the work and inform them it's not quite right. It could be that the alignment is not spot on

Hi guys, I had a simular problem when i had changed a wishbone, the judder wasnt there all the time nor did it start sraight away it seemed to come and go as and when it felt like it. the bush at the rear of the wishbone had one of the bolts come loose i tightend it thoroughly and now no probs and got the wheels re-tracked...enquire with garage as above....

Thanks everyone, car now at garage. It's not done any shuddering for them yet! Consensus is possibly discs. But as they point out they cannot at the moment say what it is that was causing it and it's now fixed.
