I haven't had the car very long only done 500 miles in it,I recently charged the battery. I now have an intermittent beeping noise every 60 secs or so just like an incoming message on a mobile.I wonder if anyone could explain what it might be?

Someone out there will put me right but it may be that if the battery went flat or nearly so your motors 'brain' could have thrown a wobbler and needs a reset. I've had a couple of incidents (not the same), which have just required someone who knows to plug in, interrogate and fix the problem with the press of a key or two. If this were happening to mine I would take it to my Porsche Centre or a respected independent and get them to plug in and have a look - the two times this kind of thing has happened to me my OPC charged me nothing but that may be because it gets serviced there?

Cheers Stefan,
I do have the car on a constant charge to keep the battery fully topped up over the winter months so it could be something to do with that.I looked through the manual but could not find anything referring to warning beeps etc.

Hi John

One of the things my car started doing was giving one beep as I went past a certain speed around the legal limit. I could not find anything in the manual that might have been set to tell me I had reached a certain speed. Really irritating going down the motorway as the speed varied around that point! It started after a minor service, I took it back and after a 15 minute wait the OPC stopped it. No idea what might have caused it. On another occasion I tried to update the sat nav maps with a DVD off the internet - it then stopped working even with the old DVD. Again similarly I took it in to the OPC and 15 mins. later it was done FOC - when I offered to pay all they said was 'it's part of the service' - they seem to look after their customers (Lovets, Swindon). Again no idea what the problem was. In my experience, these odd things just seem to need a reset, hope yours is as easy.

Hi Stefan
You may be correct there as on my computer there is something about speed limits but I cannot fathom what it is so I don't touch it but maybe I should have a look at it and work out if it's the cause of the beeps. The beeps do sound similar to a Tom Tom I have when I exceed the speed limit.

John

Guys,
There is a programmable speed limit audio warning system that is adjustable from the PCM menu. Maybe this has been set at a low speed level and is continually reminding when you it is exceeded. Worth checking.

Clive

John
