Intermittent fault with rear parking sensors

I have been experiencing an intermittent fault with the rear parking sensors. If I haven't used my KN for a few days, when selecting reverse the audible failure sounds and the front and rear monitors turn red. However, after the car has been driven for some time [long trip/multiple short trips], the rear parking sensors returns to life and starts to function OK [well until the next

All of the rear parking sensor eyes are clean and the bodywork hasn't received any damage either.

Has anyone else experienced this issue with the rear parking sensors? Could it be a fault switch attached to the reverse gear select?

Many thanks

rear park sensors faulting on cayenne are quite common due to the amount of dirt thrown up behind the bumper from the road... usually the one's just above the tailpipes

i had it with mine although the opc said it could well be dirt in the bumper, it turned out to be a faulty sensor. You can try going along banging the bumper with your hand, most dirt is found round the corner area just above the tailpipes
