Intermittent Lights

Any clues on this one anybody.

Dipped Headlights only work intermittently.

I can "Flash" High Beam but not click it on. Which to me implies some sort of control problem as clearly the lights work and are getting power, but not when I try to click the beam on.

Front fogs work fine, as do sidelights.

Bad time of year for no headlamps so any suggestions appreciated .

Hi Tony,
I had a similar problem on my 2003 996 4S, I thought it was a relay issue but took it to my local Cambridge OPC and they found it to be a fualty light switch. Switch replaced and problem solved.
Hope this helps.

Regards,

As Steve says, the light switch is the common cause of this problem. There is a DIY in the Member's Only Technical Articles section of this forum, but if you would like a copy, drop me an email and I'll attach it to a reply.
