Intermittent Problem with My Cabs Roof

Hi all,

I have a slight niggle with my 964 roof it closes up completely, then it will not, it is at almost full closure that it stops when the two sort of locks turn and pull it to the window seal, I over come it by opening slightly then closing it until it eventually closes the locks turn and pull it to the seal.

not really sure why so I was hoping that the collective might have an idea and hopefully a cure.

Many thanks for any help

Hi there,

I had the same problem with the roof of my 993 cab.
Could be:

The little hidden switch on the right rear side that makes the locks work could have a failure (You see it when you take away the cover next to the right rear seat)

The black box controlling the roof broke

Check if the cables on the black box are mounted properly (this was the problem in my case, just a loose wire)

Maybe the locks themselves went down the toilet, not very probable

Good luck, sorry for my bad English,

Hacki

Had the same problem,it turned out to be the control box under the passengers feet.Needed to get a new box ( not cheap ) from a 993 as that is the up grade that Porsche do and the wiring needed changing slighty.Camtune fixed this for me but again not cheap approx £600.
