The lights in the cabin will not go out unless i switch them off also there is a warning line on the dial as if the bonnet/boot were open. Any thoughts please ?

sounds like you may have a switch fault on either lid, have had it where the switch on the bonnet has gone faulty causing said fault, replaced the switch and job done, note it is a right swine of a job to do though it it is front one, if you look through front grill you should be able to see plug to disconnect it to stop it doing it for now..

Hi Kev,

I had a similar problem with our car when the slider switch got moved by 'Someone'

You may have got a bit confused where the switch position for Auto is. My guess is that you are sitting in the car scratching your head and trying all positions and only the 'off' turns the light off. I am sure that if the ignition key is in the ignition switch the cabin lights stay on in the Auto position irrespective of whether you open and close the doors. Beside that there is a time delay circuit on the switching off in the Auto position.

Try the swich in one position, then remove the key and get out and lock the car. If the light goes out, great, but if it don't, try the other position. If it goes out, great, but if it don't, you have got a fault !!!

Thanks Porscheuro looke at that and decided it may be a hell of a slog so doused it with 3 in one
Meantime will have a look at Tony's suggestions.I think it all started when I recharged the Battery via the terminals under the bonnet. When I got into car yesterday and switched on the rear courtesy lights came on and would not go off till i pushed the switch. Will investigate thanks.

Thanks Tony will try that when I get a mom or Paul visits ! If all else fails I will visit Ardingly one ovening and
you can become the South East Area "Sparks" if you fix it..........
PS Geneva was a bit depressed this year as one would expect.

I seem to have got rid of the warning light on the dash but the rear cabin lights will not go out without pushing the off button. It is easy to walk away from the car and leave them on for a day or 2
tempted to remove bulbs ?
