Hi Everyone
I thought I would introduce myself & my 'Modified 911'
My name is Ross Mcdonald & live in Cirencester.
This 1979 SC/RS was brought back to life last July after sitting unloved for 10 years with a broken gearbox (although the rest of the car was in very good condition).
911 Rennsport stripped the shell, with minimal rust repair & full re-paint, new 73 wings/lights, lightweight bumpers, bonnet & rear ducktail lid & lots of ‘bright work’.
The interior was fitted with lightweight carpet set, door cards, ½ cage, period seats & harnesses.
Gearbox was re-built. New clutch, club sport dampers & bushes, all new brakes with braded hoses & SSI Le Mans exhaust.
The engine (with 155k miles) is strong with minimal oil leaks & no ‘smoke’ – will eventually get a re-build!
The car is currently competing in the 2nd half of the PCGB Speed championship.
As you can see from the attached image - LRP 92L was on display at Althrop on Saturday
